Word Above Name

The Scriptures
The Bible is one of the ways in which God communicate with us, it is the voice of God speaking to us. The Bible is the word of God written under the inspiration of God. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God. 2 Timothy 3:16. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" 2 Peter 1:21. It is no wonder that our Lord has place His Word above His Name. "I will worship toward Thy Holy temple, and praise Thy name for Thy loving-kindness and for Thy truth: for Thou hast magnified thy word above Thy name." Psalm 138:2.

The power of God is found in His work. "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrew 4:12. It was Jeremiah who likens the word of God to a hammer. "Is not my word like as a fire? Saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Jeremiah 23:29.

The word of God is powerful it has the power to shut up heaven, turn waters into blood, and bring plagues on the earth. Elijah shut the heaven so that it did not rain for three years and a half, and he did so by the word of the Lord. Moses by the word of the Lord turned  the waters of Egypt to blood. Many have tried to hurt the word of God; to hurt the word of God is to oppose, corrupt or pervert its testimony. and turn people away from it. None can  do so and prosper for the Lord is a great God and he will not leave his children in darkness who earnestly seek for him with all their hearts.

"VERSE 1. of Revelation 22. And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal,  proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.  In the midst of the  street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."

The angel continues to show John the wonderful things of the city of God. In the midst of the street of the city was the tree of life. The River of Life. The tree of life is in the midst of this street; but the tree of life is on either side of the river of life; hence the river of life is also in the midst of the street of the city. The tree of life bears twelve kinds of fruit, and yields its fruit every month.  Isaiah.66:23, also tells us that all flesh shallcome up "from one new moon to another" to worship before the Lord of hosts.

As we contemplate on the goodness of God let us be reminded that it is He who has created this world and everything that is in this world, therefore He should be praised for he is God. "By the word of the Lord were the heavens made." Psalm 33:6
