Sweet Promises In Parables

Promises are estimated by the one who makes them, do you make promises that you sometimes find difficult to keep? We all make promises and many men make promises they are unable to keep, and then enjoy breaking them to hurt those whom they have given their words. There is only one that is able to fulfil all his promises and he is God.

We are called to believe in the word of  the Lord for it is God's love letter to us, He was the one who inspired penmen to write these precious promises to us so that we might learn to trust and lean completely on him. These precious promises are life sustaining and should be cherished if we are to rid ourselves of stress and worry. "I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance." Luke 15:1-7.  As Jesus spoke those words he was relating the Parable of the Lost Sheep. Here He tells about the ninety and nine sheep which are left in the wilderness, and a search is undertaken for the one that has strayed. When the lost sheep is found, the shepherd lifts it to his shoulder and returns with rejoicing. He has promised that if you were the only one on planet earth He would come and rescue you for His love is great towards his erring children.

Again Jesus gives us another parable He said, "Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." Luke 15:8-10. Here He was referring to the Parable of the Lost Coin. Jesus is reminding us of his treatment towards those erring ones, that he will not leave anyone in darkness and error, but every available means that can be used will be used to ensure his children whose desire is to serve him will have the help they need in doing so. Anyone who desires truth if he searches the word of God  for clear points of truth, God will make it known to them.

The Prodigal Son - Luke 15:11-32. Is another illustration of the Saviours love for his children While the son was at a distance from his home, his father saw him, although the rebellious son had left him years before to follow a course of wrongs; The tender love Of the father was stirred. This is how our heavenly Father sees us, It matters not how messed up we are once we say Father forgive, he is ready to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteous. Just as the Prodigal son return with all the marks of his degradation the father still loved him. God still searches for his children and tenderly watches and wait for them to return to Him. He did not wait for his son to come all the distance to him, but hastened to meet him. Likewise Jesus is making the first move towards you. He did not reproach his son, but with the tenderest pity and compassion,  he hastened to give him proofs of his love and tokens of his forgiveness.

My friend only love could make a King leave his Heavenly home to rescue one like us. It was only love that causes the Great God of our universe to hung upon that cruel cross and die that we might live eternally. Today he still waits for you. Will you delay? Or will you say Father I have sinned please forgive me; without a doubt He will forgive you for he said I have graven you on the palms of my hand you are mine. Isaiah 49:16. Give him your heart today.
