The Perfect Law

The Bible is the word of God, it was designed to be our road map as we travel this sin cursed earth. It is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, through the revelation we have received from God the word protects and shield us from the deception of the enemy.

Seeking the way of the Lord will lead us to gain a right conception of his character enabling us to understand the truth of true conversion and sanctification. Many today have under estimated the justice of God. They fail to understand that God will honour those who honour him and that the promise of eternal life will be received only by those who have been obedient to his will, in addition death will be the transgressors reward. "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23.

The blood of Christ made available to us through the gospel will free men from the condemnation or defilement of sin. Therefore repentance or the turning away from doing wrong, and the acceptance of his atoning sacrifice becomes vital if we are to share or be partakers of his divine glory. To seek to do away with the law of God, is to say we abolish God, for the law is but an expression of the character of God. It points out to man his relation to God and to man.

The Ten Commandments is found in the book of Exodus 20:1-17. When we love God we show our love and obedience to the first four commandments, which hates idolatry, or the worship of images, and blasphemy it also requires us to observe the seventh day as a day of rest and worship.

When we love and observe the Ten Commandments it requires us to honour our parents and to not steal, commit adultery, covet, practice lies and refrain from murder. When Jesus walked this earth he was asked which is the great commandment in the law, his response was, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:36:40.

We can only experience peace when we adhere to the commandments of God; do away with God's law and you destroy peace and order. When we keep God's commandment we abide in his love. John 15:10. It is the standard by which the world will be judged. James 2:12. Because it the law of liberty it is just, holy and good. Romans 7:22,12.

Therefore "blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Revelation 22:14
