God's Desire for Your Life

John Waterhouse The Missal
God's desire for you
It is the will of God for His children to live an overcoming life. God is often left to take up the broken pieces when we have disobeyed his will; when we reap the harvest of our actions, often He is blamed for everything that goes wrong. And yet when we read his words we see it is the will of God to bless and guide us through our every situation. Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace; thereby good shall come unto thee. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. Job 22:21,22. Job reminds us that God is willing and eager to do abundantly, above all that we can imagine.

From the beginning it has been Satan's plan to cause men to forget God, that he might secure them to himself. Therefore he misrepresent the character of God, and cause men to cherish a false conception of Him. Many see God as clothed with the attributes of the prince of evil himself; as arbitrary, severe, and unforgiving--that He might be feared, shunned, and even hated by men. Jesus Christ came to show us the true picture of God to the world; as a God of love, a God of mercy, tenderness, and compassion.

Today, let the light from the cross of Calvary shine forth in clear, bright rays, and as it reveals Jesus, our sacrifice for sin, may we understand that "We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins" (Ephesians 1:7). It is God's desire to restore His image in you. Believe that He is your Helper. Make it your pledge to become acquainted with Him. As you draw nigh to Him with confession and repentance, He will draw nigh to you with mercy and forgiveness.

In closing always remember "No mortal man or devil can supersede the will of God for your life. If you lay hold of this truth, it will set you free. But there is only one person who can get you out of the will of God and that person is you. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. (Psalm 145:9). Friends always remember the Fathers gave his only Son to die that you might have eternal life. There is no greater love!
